Updates come whenever I feel like it, with however many songs/albums I want at the time. There's no rhyme or reason to my posting, but I hope you enjoy it all anyway!

Spooky season has arrived! (I've been in the spooky season mood since mid-August if I'm honest.) This is my favorite time of year, so enjoy some thematically appropriate picks.
↣ rotation #011
artist: AiNA THE END
song: Love Sick
year: 2024
genre: Jrock
Link: youtube, spotify, apple music, pandora, deezer
I was a bit iffy when I first heard this was gonna be the themesong for Mononoke: Karakasa but after listening to it a few times, it really grew on me. Hearing it during the credits really cemented it as perhaps the most fitting song we could've gotten for the movie.
artist: ALEX & Tokyo Rose
release: AKUMA
year: 2017
genre: Synthwave, electronic
links: bandcamp, youtube, pandora, deezer
Somehow this feels older than I remember... anyway, probably the most thematically relevant album for the season at this point. Obviously very heavy on the synths because it's part of the retrowave movement. One commenter said it's "like a 90's rave at Dracula's castle" which isn't exactly inaccurate—I could definitely see this playing at a party venue hahaha. If you're looking for something dark, atmospheric, and with only a few vocal tracks, give this a go. The titular song is probably my favorite off of this album, but everything else on it is still really solid.
artist: Firekites
song: Autumn Story
year: 2008
genre: Folk, acoustic
links: bandcamp, youtube
This song is nearing 20 years old and I don't know how to feel about that!! I've had this in my collection for almost as long and it gets regular plays around this time of year. The entire album is nice, honestly, but this was the first ever track I heard from Firekites so it holds a very special place in my heart. It's not a very complex song, but I really love it for that. Very slow-paced, mellow, and even a little melancholy.
artist: Radical Face
song: Ghost
year: 2007
genre: Folk, indie
links: spotify, youtube, apple music, pandora
Alright, this album makes me feel old. The debut album from Radical Face and a really strong starter for him, AND on top of that it's a concept album like come on! Welcome Home is something you might've heard before, since it's been using in advertising and film throughout the years since the album released. I can't blame the corpos though, it's a really nice song. Most of the tracks on here sound fantastic though; I'm a big fan of Glory (the lyrics slay me every listen!) and Wrapped in Piano Strings. This is a really evocative album and I recommend a full listen-through at least once.

This site came about because I felt nostalgic over old MP3 rotation sites from the 00's; they were my primary method of discovering music back then. It's probably just me, but I loved how personal it felt having someone handpick songs they liked to share with the world (nevermind that the person was a stranger on the internet).
In this new landscape of how music is listened to, I've opted to link to usually official streaming sources rather than hosting downloadable files. When possible, I also link to official sources for downloading music, of which I especially encourage picking up things on Bandcamp to best support the artists.
The site title is inspired by the Dir en Grey song Audience Killer Loop. Please beware the sloppy site coding, I'm an idiot.
